FAQs
Yes! Hinge Health is offered as a benefit provided by your employer – if you join, there will be no upfront cost to you.
Please note that Hinge Health may be considered a taxable benefit in some countries. Consult your HR team or a tax professional to determine the tax implications of this benefit. If you join the Hinge Health program, we may share your details with your employer to enable appropriate tax withholding.
You are eligible to join as long as Hinge Health is covered by your employer. In some cases, your family members may also be eligible to join (your spouse/partner, and dependents aged 18+).
To check if you’re eligible, search for your employer’s name above and select them from the list.
- If you can’t find your employer on the list above but you believe they do cover Hinge Health, please contact our support team here.
- If Hinge Health is covered by your employer, we’ll then ask you to fill out a short questionnaire to create your account and make sure Hinge Health is a good fit for you (this takes about 10 minutes). We may determine that you’re not able to join if we cannot match you with your employer, or if you are restricted from or need physical support to exercise.
Hinge Health is currently only available through select employers and benefit plans. If you can’t find your employer on the list above but you believe they do cover Hinge Health, please contact our support team here.
Once you’ve signed up, you’ll download the Hinge Health app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and complete a few steps to personalize your program to your pain and needs. We’ll then provide you with 10-15 minute exercise sessions via the app. These are tailored to your mobility, strength, and pain, and will adapt as you continue to improve.
During each exercise session you’ll have the option to use ‘Motion Insights’, our smart camera technology, to receive real-time feedback on your form. This ensures you can always move confidently and get the most out of your exercises.
You’ll also have access to a deep library of educational resources developed by pain experts and physical therapists, combining the latest scientific research with tried-and-tested clinical expertise to help you overcome your pain.
We ask you to commit 15 minutes at least 3 times a week to reduce your pain. You can always do your exercises every day if you like – in fact, many members do because they find it controls their pain better. Fortunately, our digital format means you can complete your exercises wherever and whenever works best for you, and advance at your own pace.
You'll need the Hinge Health app, available for download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and a comfortable place to exercise (don't worry if it's not the ideal space, it only needs to be practical). For some exercises you may need a chair or table for support, in which case the app will let you know.
Hinge Health members typically begin to feel pain relief and improved mobility within a few weeks. Our clinical study of over 10,000 US participants showed that over 12 weeks, members saw an average pain reduction of 68%, as well as a 61% average increase in their productivity at work.² This study is published in JMIR.
Increased mobility and reduced pain have also been shown to improve other lifestyle factors such as sleep, overall mental wellbeing, and energy levels, and we often hear our members report improvements in these areas too!
